Jerry Sambuaga, Vice Minister of Trade supports the optimization for the implementation of the Healthy, Innovative and Safe to Use (S.I.A.P) QRIS program by Bank of Indonesia (BI) in shopping centers and people’s markets. The presence of S.I.A.P QRIS program is expected to be the step to accelerate the national economic recovery. This was conveyed by Jerry at the launch of S.I.A.P QRIS at Pondok Indah Mall, South Jakarta (27/08/2022).
“We hope that the S.IA.P QRIS program can be implemented optimally, so that it can encourage public consumption. Given that the current pandemic is heading towards an endemic period, of course, this can help accelerate the national economic recovery,” he explained.
Jerry also said that the program was launched by BI as one of the concrete steps in digitizing payments. This program makes payment transactions safer, healthier, faster and more practical. This year the S.I.A.P QRIS program has been implemented in 30 shopping centers and 130 people’s markets.
“The launch of S.I.A.P QRIS this time hopefully can encourage retail and shopping center business players, especially in the DKI Jakarta area to make optimal use of them. Because DKI Jakarta is a pioneer in the advancement of trade technology in Indonesia,” he added.
Then, what are the benefits of QRIS that users have felt?
One of the QRIS users, Lussy Andalusia, the owner of Allysia Craft Fashion, felt the benefits of QRIS firsthand. Lussy explained that during registration, making QRIS was easy, and fast. In addition, QRIS also facilitates his business in terms of his bookkeeping.
“By using Qris, the bookkeeping is also easier. All listed in detail, such as the number and name. So there is no need to re-record what has been sold,” Lussy explained.
Lussy felt this convenience when selling at the exhibition. He explained that the presence of Qris helped facilitate transactions for the buyers he met. So that digital transactions by sellers and buyers develop simultaneously.
“Withdrawing (the money) is easy, and there is no difficulty. The origin of the data is complete,” she added.
