Boourac Curates Karawang Creative Economy Products to Go Global

The presence of Technology Guidance and Creative Economy Product Curation to Go Global is a collaboration between Boourac and the Karawang Regency Office. This activity aims as a curation forum in preparing the products of creative business actors in Karawang to enter the international market or Go Global. This activity invites creative business actors who work in the craft sector, such as bags, wallets, hats, to small furniture for home needs.

“We hope that this will be one of the steps that prepares parents here (business actors) to Go Global,” said Fazrian Wardani Adhitya, Head of the Creative Economy Division of the Karawang Regency Tourism and Culture Office, in his remarks at Hotel Asialink Premier, Karawang, Jawa Barat (05/09/2022).

Fazrian explained that this collaboration was included in a series of activities to increase the capacity of tourism human resources (HR) and the creative economy at the basic level. This activity is part of a series of Karawang Anniversary events which will reach its peak on September 14, 2022. This activity is expected to provide direction and motivation for Karawang business actors.

“Hopefully with this activity, our products can be ready to compete out there (international markets),” added Fazrian who expressed his hopes for the future of Karawang SMEs.

In preparing creative products to go global, a major transition to digital is required. This transition consists of shifting transactions to digital, using social media, and joining e-commerce or international marketplaces. This series of transitions is expected to encourage business actors to enter the international market.

“We are helping SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) to be ready to enter the international market ecosystem,” said Iis Muchlis, Managing Director of Boourac International Indonesia

Iis explained that the relationship between the preparation of business actors and their ecosystem will affect the smoothness of an export. Economic changes from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic have made a major transition to digital-oriented forms of transactions in Indonesia. This is welcomed, because it encourages all business actors to make a digital transition. However, maintaining the continuity of this business becomes the next important point.

“There are three important points, namely, Quality (quality), Quantity (quantity), and Continuity (sustainability). Keeping a business running is the key to keep exports going,” said Iis when explaining the preparation flow that business actors need to pay attention to.

The event was continued with an online curation session with Syarief Thalib from Boourac New Zealand. Curation is carried out by assessing the readiness of the business and its products, as well as educating the existing interests in the international market. In addition, the event was also attended by Luthfi Ansori, Deputy Chairman of the Karawang Regency Creative Economy Forum, Ilfa; Mulia Bachtiar Saputra, Exporter and Founder of PT Karawang Kreatif; and Metta Palupi, Commercial Director of Boourac International Indonesia.
