The use of the digital economy is interconnected in the business process of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Therefore, digitizing the economy in the informal sector is very important. This was conveyed by the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki at the Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) G20 (6/9/2022).
“Utilizing the digital economy is an integral part of the MSME business process,” said Teten Masduki during the webinar. He explained that the government continues to encourage MSMEs to go digital to enter the marketplace. So that adaptation in the digital transformation process is key.
According to konta.co.id, during the Covid-19 pandemic, MSMEs that have been connected to digital platforms have proven to be able to survive and experience growth. It is targeted that by 2022, the value will reach Rp 632 trillion. Meanwhile, in 2030, its value is predicted to grow to Rp 4,531 trillion.
“Of course this is a very significant growth, yes, it could be eight times in just 10 years,” said Teten.
He also added that government spending would continue to be increased, so that the import substitution policy for government consumption could encourage the growth of MSMEs.
“One million MSME products have been onboarding at LKPP and if more local governments buy their products through this e-catalog, more MSMEs will go digital,” he explained.
In addition, the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs also provides financing facilitation through KUR and LPDB. Not only that, digital platforms have also been built to provide services for MSMEs such as ODS, OSS, SKOPI (financial hub and credit scoring), Lamikro, ISSMEI (integration of MSME licensing), UKM Campus, LHKPN, Smesta, and SME Catalog.
