The Department of Trade and Industry of Kediri City stated that the growth of exports of local products to foreign countries rose to 230%. The Head of the Department of Trade and Industry of Kediri City Tanto Wijohari said that the commodity products from tobacco processing still rank the highest in the export activities of the City of Kediri. This increase was greatly welcomed as the current global economy is in an uncertain state.
“This figure is known to have increased sharply when compared to the achievement of exports in the third quarter (Q3) of 2021, which was IDR 115 billion or an increase of 230%,” said Tanto (23/10/2022).
According to beritasatu.com, Tanto explained that his party noted that the export achievement of the kediri city for in the third quarter (Q3) of 2022 experienced a very significant increase. He hopes that this number will continue to increase, both in terms of nominal exports and the number of new exporters in the following year.
“The highest commodity of local products came from tobacco production. It had a very significant increase in the third quarter of last year, amounting to IDR 96 billion. Meanwhile, in the same period this year it rose to IDR 376 billion,” said Tanto (23/10/2022).
Tanto added that to meet these expectations, his party has formulated several efforts, including developing export training to a more advanced level. The training carried out is marketing training for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) products. The training consists of digital platform training, export training through the marketplace, and so on. He hopes that the training will increase exports even higher.
“Yesterday we held training on marketing of MSME products through digital platforms, this year export training through the marketplace, next year we will increase it even higher,” he replied.
The export destinations include America, Germany, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Paraguay, Singapore, Vietnam, India, Belgium, France and China.
