The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta stated that it has facilitated the registration of 1,500 brands. This facilitated registration is for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in 2022. The registration of these brands was submitted by the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta and was filed to the Directorate General of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
“The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has facilitated the registration of trademark rights to 1,500 MSMEs for 2022,” said DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary Marullah Matali, at the Roving Intellectual Property Seminar in Central Jakarta (21/11/2022).
According to kompas.com, Marullah explained that the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta is still preparing the quota. They will be preparing of 2,000 slots for MSMEs in Jakarta. Therefore, he encouraged MSMEs to immediately register their brands and trademark them.
“We are still preparing 2,000 quotas for MSMEs,” he explained.
Marullah also emphasized that local governments must understand the benefits of having an intellectual property system. This is because the presence of the intellectual property system can be a driving force for national economic recovery.
“It is imperative for regional governments to understand comprehensively the benefits of the presence of an intellectual property system. As it’s one of the drivers of national economic recovery,” he added.
For information, the Roving Intellectual Property Seminar was held by the Directorate General of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. The event was attended by a number of state officials. Such as Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly and Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno.
“I hope this appreciation can be a motivation. For all of us to continue to produce works that have intellectual property.” said Marullah.
