Teten Masduki, Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises, said that the Indonesia Manufacturing Center (IMC) was able to encourage micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). IMC by the Ministry of Industry, is considered to be able to increase the productivity of MSMEs.
“Mainly, I appreciate the Ministry of Industry. Because the IMC that was built is one of the very important foundations. It will boost the productivity of our MSMEs.” Teten said while attending the groundbreaking of the IMC development in Plered, Purwakarta, West Java (05/12/2022).

This innovation is expected to help the domestic industry in the production process, including the MSME sector. With IMC, MSME actors can obtain these machines domestically. This allows machinery to be obtained at a more affordable price.
“IMC also has the potential to substitute industrial machinery imports for MSMEs. So productivity will increase and stimulate national MSMEs,” he said.
According to Teten, this can be a solution to the problems faced by millions of MSMEs in the country. Especially for MSMEs whose productivity rates are still low. With innovation in the field of machinery, MSMEs can adopt higher technology in their production processes.
The development of IMC is driven by the Ministry of Industry’s aspirations to increase the competitiveness and independence of the national industry. This is realized through the development and improvement of mastery of industrial technology.
The construction of the IMC on an 11 hectare plot of land was carried out as an effort to strengthen the national industrial structure. Mainly by increas mastery of technology.
