Pupuk Kaltim Increases Export Potential with Business Training

PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (Pupuk Kaltim) presents business training to increase the potential of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Pupuk Kaltim values the importance of increasing the potential of MSMEs in various sectors. This potential will be developed to reach the export level.

“Through this activity, the company’s fostered MSME partners can maximize their business potential to become national superior. By consistently increasing the quality and quantity of products to penetrate the market or export supply chain,” explained VP TJSL Pupuk Kaltim Sugeng Suedi in his statement (17/02/2023).

According to antaranews.com, Sugeng said that this activity was a continuation of Pupuk Kaltim’s support in increasing the competitiveness of local MSMEs. Especially the company’s fostered partners to be able to reach a wider market potential.

This business coaching and market strengthening was attended by 15 Pupuk Kaltim fostered partners. This activity is focused as a follow-up to the optimization of the factory sharing program. This program was initiated to increase business capacity. Among them is through product innovation with the character of a sustainable cultural brand and export-oriented products.

“MSMEs assisted by Pupuk Kaltim are also expected to be able to build an exporter’s mentality. By continuing to innovate and create export-quality products, they can place their business products in the domestic and global markets,” he added.

Pupuk Kaltim Support MSMEs

The continuity of Pupuk Kaltim’s support for strengthening MSME capacity also takes into account its role in economic growth. From the local to the national level, which was recorded to be much higher than the medium industrial sector. This is indicated by the high absorption capacity of MSME workers reaching 97 percent of the business world.

However, this is not comparable to the contribution of Indonesia’s MSME exports which only reached 14 percent. This achievement is still far below the contribution of MSMEs in other APEC countries of 35 percent.

“Therefore, Pupuk Kaltim continues to increase efforts so that local MSMEs are able to maximize creation and innovation. So that in the future they will also contribute to the export market and able to compete in quality and quantity with other products at the global level,” he said.
