Eight Jepara micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) attended the Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) 2023 in Jakarta. The event was held from March 9 to 12 and featured a variety of unique furniture from Indonesia.
“The Ifex event exhibits various furniture and handicraft products. Luckily, this year Jepara can participate again. This is an opportunity for businesses to offer their products. Moreover, Ifex has the potential to be recognized by buyers from various countries,” said the General Secretary of the DPD Jepara Raya Association of Indonesian Furniture and Craft Industries (HIMKI) Yuli Kusdiyanto (10/03/2023).
According to radarkudus.jawapos.com, Yuli explained that this year IFEX participants from Jepara had increased. Previously there were only five MSMEs participating in the event. This year, that number has increased to eight.
“There was also a live carving at the event. Presenting Jepara sculptors,” he explained.
From the live carving, there were three carving conservationists who received awards. They are Roni Sunarrasan, Sutahar, and Marshodiq. Roni is from Sukodono Village, Sutahar from Krapyak Village, and Marshodiq from Sembada Carved Village. Yuli also said that the Jepara Regency Government was also present to witness the award.
In its opening, the Regent of Jepara Edy Supriyanta was also present and the Chairman of the Jepara DPRD Haizul Ma’arif. There were two ministers who also opened the event. The two are Minister of Economy Airlangga Hartanto, and Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang.
