Medan’s legislator asked the city government to prioritize micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Medan City DPRD member Dhiyaul Hayati conveyed to help MSMEs success at Ramadhan Fair 2023.
“Of course the MSME actors are involved in the Ramadhan Fair. Because they need help to get to the next grade,” explained Dhiyaul (20/03/2023).
Reported by antaranews.com, data from the Medan City SME Cooperative and Industry and Trade Office said that the number of MSMEs in this area was 27,753 units. This figure consists of 22,213 micro businesses, 5,447 small businesses, and 103 medium businesses.
“At night we provide an opportunity for micro businesses to increase their turnover during the fasting month of Ramadhan,” she added.
The 2023 Ramadhan Fair was held for the people of Medan City to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan. Based on information from the Medan City Education and Culture Office, the Ramadhan Fair will be held for 20 days. The event starts on March 25 until April 13, 2023.
This year’s Ramadhan Fair was held in three locations. These three locations are in Taman Sri Deli, Maimun Palace and Pulau Rengas Field in the northern part of Medan.
To anticipate a surge in visitors, Dhiyaul asked the organizers of the 2023 Ramadhan Fair to prepare a parking location, especially for motorbike users. Not only that, Dhiyaul also appealed to increase security.
“Including security at the Ramadhan Fair. Currently cases of motor vehicle theft are very common in the city of Medan,” she added.
