Encourage the Business World With MSME Plaza

Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution admitted that the Medan City Government would build a Plaza for businesses. In realizing this, the Medan City Government cooperates with the University of North Sumatra (USU). The presence of this plaza is expected to improve the economy of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

“We believe we can compete with other regions in terms of creativity. But we are still constrained by access. Many Medan children have high creativity and choose to leave Medan City to be successful,” said Bobby while attending an interactive dialogue with the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki at the USU Auditorium (16/5/2023).

Reported by cnbcindonesia.com, Bobby expressed hope from the Medan City Government. They hope that all tenants, from within and around Medan City, can form an entrepreneurial spirit. So that a business world ecosystem is formed that can provide benefits to society.

Meanwhile, Teten Masduki said that Indonesia needed to prepare reliable entrepreneurs. In developed countries, the entrepreneurial ratio reaches up to 12%. Therefore, Indonesia must be able to give birth to highly educated young people who enter the business world.

“Moreover, President Joko Widodo wants to prepare the foundation for Indonesia which will become the four major powers after the United States, China and India,” explained Teten.

This interactive dialogue was also attended by the Head of the New Entrepreneurship Division of the National Crafts Council (Dekranas) Endang Budi Karya and his staff, Deputy for Entrepreneurship of the Ministry of Cooperatives and UKM Siti Azizah, USU Deputy Chancellor I Edy Ikhsan, USU academics and these students.
