The Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki admitted that the development of MSMEs could be delayed in the national economy going forward. He considered that MSMEs need to innovate with their products. One of them is by creating modern products.
Reporting from liputan6.com, Teten revealed that only 4.1 percent of MSMEs have entered the industrial supply chain. For this reason, he stressed the importance of building a business ecosystem. Starting from banking financing to ease of doing business.
“Actually, from a regulatory standpoint, it has been completed. For example, in relation to partnerships with big businesses, there is already a tax incentive policy. Likewise with wage regulations and KUR Cluster financing,” he said (21/05/2023).
Teten wants MSMEs to be superior by creating modern products. Not only that, he also wants MSMEs to become part of the industrialization supply chain.
“Building MSMEs must be part of industrialization. Otherwise, MSMEs will be left behind. In essence, MSMEs must evolve to produce technology-based products,” he explained.
Modern Innovation From Young People
He added, currently there are many entrepreneurs from among young people. On average, the innovations carried out are based on technological innovation. For example, the shoe industry, perfume, and so on.
“For example, the raw materials for world-class perfume in France are in Indonesia. It clearly has a very high value,” said Teten.
Likewise with the herbal medicine industry. According to him, herbal medicine MSMEs can be encouraged to become an herbal-based medicine industry. MSMEs with this basis can also become the supply chain of the pharmaceutical industry.
