The West Java Provincial Government has succeeded in bringing its regional business actors to the next level. As many as 5,000 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have successfully upgraded from micro businesses to small businesses. This achievement is in accordance with the targets set in the five-year regional medium-term development plan (RPJMD).
According to tempo.co, the Head of the Small Business Division of the Cooperatives and Small Business Office of the West Java Province Ucup Yusuf also gave his comments. He said, based on the latest data, there were around 4.5 million MSMEs in West Java.
According to him, in the West Java region, MSMEs category is dominated by micro businesses. There are millions of micro entrepreneurs and only tens of thousands of small businesses. Therefore, Ucup continues to encourage micro entrepreneurs to upgrade their class.
“We encourage the 5,000 MSMEs who have upgraded to this class to share their tips with other MSMEs,” he said when met at the Bandung Regency Integrated Business Service Center (PLUT) (25/05/2023).
Apart from holding various trainings, the West Java Office of Cooperatives and Small Businesses also has an MSME helpdesk. This feature is open to serve consultations for MSME actors. There are also podcasts, webinars and talk show programs that are carried out as socialization efforts.
Ucup explained that UMKM Champion is the flagship program of the West Java Provincial Government. UMKM Champion is a program owned by the West Java Office of Cooperatives and Small Business in collaboration with Bank Jabar Banten (BJB).
“The people’s economy is manifested in cooperatives and small businesses. The target is to increase next year God willing. Currently, Covid is still being used, but later the budget will be normal, the target will be increased, even the companion will be added,” he explained.
