The Medan City Government plans to build packaging houses for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This step is an attempt by the Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution, to support MSMEs in developing their business products. This packaging house is expected to encourage MSMEs to the next level.
“Insyallah this year, we will build a packaging house. This starts from the aspirations of our MSME players. However, in the midst of the preparations, we have also prepared related technical matters so that in practice everything will run smoothly,” he said in a written statement (19/6/2023).
Reported by detik.com, Bobby Nasution conveyed this when receiving the arrival of members of Committee II DPD RI at the Medan City Hall. The arrival of the group led by Deputy Chairperson III of Committee II DPD RI Luky Semen was part of a working visit. This activity was carried out as Oversight of Law No.31/2000 concerning Industrial Design in the City of Medan.
“We understand what things are needed by business actors to protect them and the products they own. Maybe not today the impact will be felt, but later after their brands and products are known and well-known. So, if it is registered, it will be safer to run a business ,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson III of Committee II DPD RI Lukky Semen conveyed the purpose of his presence. According to him, Medan City was chosen because it saw the progress of the MSME sector in Medan City during Bobby Nasution’s leadership.
“In addition, we are currently compiling views and opinions regarding the Industrial Design Bill from the Regional Government. Through the supervision that we are carrying out, of course this will be an input for us,” Lukky added.
