As many as 37 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are involved in the Papua Coffee Festival 2023. The festival will be held by the Representative Office of Bank Indonesia (BI) Papua Province on 4 – 9 August 2023. This festival will be hedl at PTC Entrop, Jayapura City, Papua.
“During the implementation of the festival, we want to introduce more superior Papuan products so that they can go global,” said Head of the Bank Indonesia Team for Papua Province Remon Samora (01/08/2023). He also said the 37 MSMEs consisted of 19 coffee MSMEs, 3 craft MSMEs, 14 culinary MSMEs and 1 clothing MSMEs.
According to antaranews.com, Remon hopes that this festival can encourage coffee to become a superior commodity. So that it can provide benefits to the community by being widely exported.
This year the Papua Coffee Festival enters its sixth year. This festival was held to celebrate the 73rd independence day of the Republic of Indonesia. This festival will bring entertainment, music festivals, and also competitions.
“The coffee competition consists of a manual brew competition and a latte competition. There is also an e-sport competition consisting of e football, mobile legends and PUBG,” he added.
For information, the Papua Coffee Festival is part of BI’s annual agenda. It is a form of real contribution for MSMEs developments for Papua Province.
